Senior High Retreat Rescheduled The October Senior High Retreat has been rescheduled for April 29-May 1, 2004. Please mark your calendars now. Attention: Senior High Youth (9-12th grade) Chrysalis – the Washington Metro DC Synod Retreat- is Coming Soon! December 5-7th Cost is $90, please make checks payable to Good Shepherd. Registration Deadline is October 31st. Please turn in the form and check to Laura as soon as possible. Scholarships are Available!!! Parents, we are in need of chaperones for this event. You can lead a small group during the event or participate in the program. Your cost will be covered by the church. December 3, 10 & 17th* Join us in celebrating Advent every Wednesday night at church. Dinner will be provided (Chicken Out, Red Hot and Blue, and Pizza). A free will offering will be taken at the door to cover dinner costs. December 3 and 10th- After dinner we will join together as a family for a short worship and then divide into adults and kids groups for a short interactive learning time. December 17th – Come for family night at 5:45 for dinner and then we are off to spread some Advent cheer at the National Lutheran Home at 6:30pm. We will walk around the halls singing carols and greeting residents. Professional singing voices not required. Please sign up on the Family Night Advent Wreath located in the lobby or by emailing Laura Albanese at Laura@goodshepherdonline.org. This helps us to order the right amount of food.

Youth Events In order to participate in youth events, each youth must have a completed permission/medical release form on file. Friends too! Also, please sign up for events either on the youth board located next to the youth room or by email. Laura@goodshepherdonline.org. Senior High Sunday School will be doing a multi-media Bible Study during Advent using “The Skit Guys.” Don’t forget to join us for Family Night. December 5-7th Chrysalis- Senior High Synod Retreat at Sandy Cove, MD. December 14th 12:30-3:30pm- Christmas Party at the Redmon’s house. Please bring a wrapped gift $10 or under for an exchange. Also a bathing suit…..THERE IS A HOT TUB! December 11 & 18 – Dinner at CiCi’s. Meet at the church by 5:30 or at CiCi’s off of Rockville Pike by 6:00pm. We’ll be back at the church by 7:30ish. December 30th - SERVICE OPPORTUNITY AT MARTHA’S TABLE. Help serve make and serve food to the homeless. Please be at the church by 11:00am. More details to come. We will also invite our college friends to join us. December 12th 7:00-11:00pm – Dinner Out and Christmas Party! Please bring a wrapped gift ($10 or under) to the party. Meet at church and we will take the bus to Silver Diner. December 30th 6:00pm - Christmas Bowling and dinner. Join us for dinner and bowling. We encourage all families with elementary youth to attend Family Night during Advent and to go Christmas caroling at the National Lutheran Home on December 17th. December 6th- Teddy Bear Tea at the National Cathedral. We will take a tour of the children’s chapel and then have a child-friendly tea in the Cathedral’s tea room. We have a limited number of spots open, so sign up early. Please bring your favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal. |
