Day-By-Day Updates (scroll down for more photos and the Building Committee's monthly update)
Sunday, May 4, 2008: We toured our new construction site to get a feel of the space of our future facility. There is still much work to be completed before we can worship in our new space.
Friday, May 16, 2008: In spite of the rain this month has brought, construction progress continues. Most notable is progress on the office space of the second floor. The exterior walls are shaping up nicely.
May Building Committee Update: Building Bandwagon III
Today (Sunday, May 4) as part of the church council forum, you will have the opportunity to venture on the other side of the construction fence and experience firsthand our emerging new facilities. Of course, I hope for good weather (our building is not closed up yet), but most of all I hope you experience the joy and anticipation that have filled me every time I have gone into our new facilities. If you are skeptical about our building program and not sure you want to jump on the Building Bandwagon, I particularly invite you to stand in the middle of our new sanctuary, look up at the exposed wooden ceiling, and imagine colorful stained glass in the 18 window openings. Then turn your attention to the chancel area and allow your minds eyes to see a platform with an altar table, ambo, choir, organ console, piano, instruments, and bells and a back wall with a large stained glass shepherd window in the center and exposed organ pipes on each side. Other things that you will see: the large unfinished basement (future program space), the lobby/narthex, the kitchen area, the elevator shaft, maybe even go up the stairs to see the floor of the administration area. There is much progress to report for April and more is scheduled for May.
April Progress
Sanctuary concrete block walls - completed.
Sanctuary roof electrical conduit, wires and boxes installed; roof
insulation begun
2nd level administrative area - precast planking installed and topped with
layer of concrete
Basement - duct work completed.
Stair wells most of concrete block completed; one stair completed.

May Schedule

For May the front row seats of the Building Bandwagon are
reserved for:
Vicki Schmidt, our business manager, for keeping track of the building
finances and paying the bills.
The TCS on-site leadership team: Chuck Miller, VP for Field Operations, and
Dave Lackey, On-site Superintendent. The efforts and responsiveness of these two
gentlemen is greatly appreciated.
Our picture taking crew: Carolyn Miller, Donna Young-Ritter, Warren Simonsen,
Pastor Dave, and other unknown camera bugs. Thanks for creating a pictorial
record of the construction of our new ministry facilities.
Peter Schmidt who sang a solo in our new sanctuary, demonstrating the
excellent acoustics.
