Dave became the Senior Pastor at Good Shepherd in July 2001. During his time at Good Shepherd, the congregation has experienced significant growth and vitality. A new mission and vision was adopted, many new staff members have come on board to enrich the ministry, a weekly contemporary worship service has been added, and many new groups have been formed (or are in the process of being formed). In 2004, the church began a 3-year Capital Campaign entitled, “Growing in Ministry, Building to Serve”. This campaign will help the church expand it physical facilities, thus enabling the church to reach out to the community and provide more space for current as well as future ministries.

Dave wholeheartedly believes that each Christian is a minister on the “frontlines of this world. He sees it as the job of the church to equip and encourage each person for their daily ministry.

Dave began an on-line devotional ministry in 2000 called “Frontline Devotions.” This e-ministry has expanded and now includes several lay people at Good Shepherd serving as devotion writers.

Dave remains active in the community beyond the church. He serves as a classroom volunteer at a local elementary school. He also serves as the head coach of a girl’s soccer team. Dave plays on a local indoor soccer team at the Rockville Sports Plex.

Dave is a 1991 graduate of Muhlenberg College where he played shortstop and pitcher on the baseball team (check out his awesome records.) Dave graduated from Gettysburg Seminary in 1996. Prior to coming to Good Shepherd, Dave served as Associate Pastor at Grace Lutheran (Camp Hill, PA) from 1996-2001.

Pastor Dave is married to Frances Foltz. They have three children: Rachel, Becca, and Drew.
