Get Involved in More than Sunday Worship!
Small group adult ministries are an important part of Christian life at Good Shepherd. Our faith experience extends beyond formal worship and our lives are greatly enriched via the activities and fellowship of these groups. There are groups for different ages, stages, and interests of life. Participate in one (or more!) of these groups. And, if you don't see one for you, talk to one of the Pastors about starting a new one.
Our faith grows as we live it, experience it, and share it with others.
Every Single One - We welcome all Single people 18 and up. Join us for regular activities such as dinners, concerts, museum visits, and other special events. Contact Joy Freund via email or at 301-527-8719.
Lutheran Marriage Encounter
- Learn and experience how to make your marriage better through a
Lutheran Marriage Encounter Weekend. This weekend offers couples
an opportunity to learn how to better communicate their thoughts and
feelings within the context of a Christ-centered marriage. This
weekend away from daily pressures provides couples with private time to
discover, rediscover, deepen, and enrich their marriage connection. Couples return home renewed, refreshed, and strengthened in their love
for one another.
Men's Ministry - We are men committed to responding to God’s love through scripture-based devotions, inspiration, ministry, prayer, and affirmation of one another as vital parts of the body of Christ. Come see for yourself – there’s no learning curve, only brothers exploring pathways to follow our Lord.
Seniors/Retirees - All persons 55 and older are welcome to participate in the many activities of this group at Good Shepherd.
Sisters in Grace Mom's Group - Are you a mother with young children? We would love for you to join us and enjoy fellowship and Bible study especially tailored for you! Meetings are held each Thursday at 10:00 am in the Nursery. Childcare is provided. Contact Nancy Danielson, 301-972-5230.
Softball Team - Good Shepherd's Softball Team plays in the
Montgomery Christian
Softball Association, Co-Ed Division during the spring and summer. This
is a fun group that welcomes players of all ages. The 2007 season is a few weeks away but keep your calendar clear for games on Saturdays!
Plan to join us for practices beginning Sunday, March 25 and April 1. Games are on
Saturdays late April through June from 5:00-7:00pm. Contact Warren Simonsen at (301) 977-2050 or via email for more information. Even if you don't play, join us at
the games, beginning at 5:00 pm.
Women's Book Club -
The Women's Book club was formed in January 2005 and has read a variety of books. Selections have included "Blessings", "The Secret Life of Bees", "Dreams
from My Father", and "The Book of the Dun Cow". We
welcome all suggestions. We meet the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm. Contact

Women's Group - Join the women of Good Shepherd in various activities of discussion and fellowship.
