Men's Retreat 2008
We will hold a Men's Retreat at Oak TImbers in Great Cacapon, WV at Marlin Strand's , May 9-11,2008.
The weekend will again combine study and service, with the theme of "Building Up
the Church", that is the body of Christ, that is Us.
The service project will be staging of firewood for the underserved of
Morgan County (eastern
panhandle of West Virginia) for distribution (following seasoning) in the
autumn.
Please let me know if you are able to attend so we can
get headcounts and make plans accordingly.
Arrival any time before 9:00am on Saturday is good.
Departure Saturday night or Sunday Morning is totally acceptable.
I will provide maps to all who need them. Driving time is less than 2 hours.
Bible and chain saw should be brought if you have'em. Linens and beds provided,
cash for dinner out on Saturday and small payment for meals at the cabin will be
collected.
I welcome you all to my place in the Woods - we have had several retreats here;
the joy, fellowship, peace and understanding has been real and beneficial to
all.

Friday 5/9
Leave church at 1:00pm
Arrive Morgan County at 3:00pm
Visit work site (need to confirm)
Arrive Cabin 5:00pm
Dinner 7:00pm
Study/Orientation to topic 9:00pm
Saturday 5/10
Breakfast @ 7:30am
Study at 9:30 and 11:00am
Lunch at 12:00pm
Arrive Work Site @ 1:30pm
Gather, size and stack firewood
at "Angels Work Site"
Travel to nearby Cacappon State Park for clean up and dinner @ 5:30pm

Cabin or head home at 8:30pm
Sunday 5/11
Breakfast @ 7:00am
Worship @ 9:00am
Study @ 10:00am
Depart for home 12:00pm: (some men will leave early for responsibilities
at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Sunday morning and Mother's Day events.

into it)
