Flu Season Is On The Way!

The Good Shepherd Flu Shot Clinic Is Not Far Behind!

There has already been some discussion of the upcoming flu season in the press within the past month. In anticipation of another active flu season, the Good Shepherd Health Ministry Committee has been working the past several months to make it convenient for Good Shepherd’s members to obtain their flu vaccinations while attending Sunday services and activities. The Health Ministry Committee is pleased to announce that it has contracted with MAXIM Healthcare Services to provide a flu shot clinic.

Influenza $20.00

Pneumonia $35.00

Medicare Part B holders can bring their cards and have their claims filed for their flu shots by MAXIM without a copay!

MAXIM is a national company and is a leading provider of home health care and wellness services. They were established in 1988 and employ approximately 56,000 clinicians across the United States. During 2002, MAXIM administered flu vaccinations to 1.3 million individuals. One of the Health Ministry Committee’s members is an RN that works occasionally with MAXIM. MAXIM will be providing licensed nursing personnel to administer immunizations along with the flu and pneumonia vaccines.

In order to make this process as convenient as possible, the Health Ministry Committee will be selling flu shot coupons ($20.00 per injection) prior to the clinic. An individual purchasing this coupon can bring it to the clinic on the 14th, or if they are not able to attend the clinic, this coupon can be taken to any flu shot clinic that MAXIM is operating (they administer immunizations at many of the retailers in our area including GIANT). You can check their website www.findaflushot.com for an immunization site nearest you. If you do not wish to pre-purchase a coupon, MAXIM will accept cash or check on the date of the clinic.
