Luke 22:40 On reaching the place, he said to them, "Pray that you will not fall into temptation."
“Pray that you will not fall into temptation.”
Or trip.
Or step.
Or slide.
Because it’s ridiculously easy to do. And that’s because it is seldom tempting to do what God wants of us. Taking the path of God means releasing the “ego.” Taking the path of God means turning away from self-interest.
And that is seldom tempting.
So keep praying. Keep striving. Keep seeking the good path. And some day we might find, low and behold, we’ve stuck to it.
And we will come to see it really IS the good path.
