GOD IS BIG ENOUGH

A daily
Spiritual
Growth Opportunity

Frontline Devotion for Thursday, February 14, 2008 by Pastor Dave Sonnenberg

Reprinted from March 13, 2003

I am facilitating a discussion on prayer on Wednesday evenings. In prepping for that, I was reading a book in which the author reminded me that God is big enough to handle anything we have to share - the good, the bad, the ugly, the miniscule and the concerns of great magnitude.

As a parent with children, my kids ask my wife and I for countless things. Their requests are continuous. Can I have breakfast now is the 6:30 a.m. wake up call for me on most days?  Can I have a piece of candy?  Can I go outside?  Can I watch a movie?  Can you read me a story? Can you tell me about this or that? Anything and everything.  At times their requests can be repetitious and even frustrating, but I think of the alternative - what if they didn't ask for anything. . .I wouldn't like that at all. I appreciate the fact that they view me as someone they will ask anything and everything for.

In prayer, God desires us to connect and share everything.  He can handle what we share. He yearns to hear us voice the miniscule and the frustrations.  I am a believer that he rejoices whenever we connect in open conversation with him.

Are you willing to share the good, the bad, and the ugly with God?  If not, why not?
