WE WON’T BE SILENCED

A daily
Spiritual
Growth Opportunity

Frontline Devotion for Thursday, March 8, 2007 by Pastor Dave Sonnenberg

Mark 6:14-29

Today’s text is really an interlude. As you recall from yesterday, Jesus had sent out his followers to teach, preach, cast out demons, and heal. They went to work and their “going out” and faithful response had a profound impact. It was a sign that Jesus’ movement was growing and gaining momentum and he was using everyday people to do his work.

Today’s interlude is a reminder that there will always be those (for whatever reason) who try and silence the work of Christ. But, the Gospel reminds us, time and time again, that God will not be silenced!

Too often, we allow our faith to be silenced. Jesus sends us out into a world that needs our witness. There is certainly opposition. There is certainly challenges. There is certainly some confusion. But, no matter what - you and I would do well to continue to say - “we will not let our faith be silenced!”
