"Wired"

A daily
Spiritual
Growth Opportunity

Frontline Devotion for Friday, January 26, 2007 by Dave Sonnenberg

I am a “wired” person as I suspect many of you are. Laptop, Blackberry, scanner, Ipod, and countless technological advances are utilized in my ministry and in daily life. I have to admit that if I forget my cell phone, I have to admit that I feel like I’ve left something vital behind.

Fortunately, I get the chance for undivided and uninterrupted time every once in a while - time in which I can reflect on life and the Gospel message for life. As I pause this morning, I must say, “it matters very little how “wired we are”. That is not what creates us or makes us or gives us value. What matters is our connection to God.

The spirit of Jesus seeks us out and tries to nudge us, tries to speak to us, and tries to influence us throughout each and every day. We are never disconnected from that voice or that nudge- even if we try to ignore it time and time again. The thing I keep in mind is that the spirit of Jesus has a laser beam focus on us- constantly seeking to lead and guide us. That spirit never loses connection with us.

As we grow in our connection and recognition that the spirit is with us, we will no doubt grow in our connection to others.

Amen
