Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
A Web Tour of our Stained Glass Windows
|
The Seven East Windows Reading from left to right, the seven windows on the east side of the nave illustrate themes of special significance in the life and faith of the Good Shepherd congregation. While each window features a different subject, they are related through dramatic color progression. Deep blues, fiery red, and glowing amethyst in the first window gradually transform into vivid yellows and vibrant greens in the last. The windows are joined stylistically by flowing scrolls intertwined with images. Traditional ecclesiastical symbols are enhanced by the contemporary depiction of human hands, expressing in American Sign Language the theme of each window, and representing the congregation’s interest in ministry to the deaf. |
