to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Gaithersburg, Maryland. We are here to help
you on your spiritual journey and offer you God’s loving embrace.
The people of Good Shepherd recognize that this 21st century world needs us to take our faith seriously. Our church recognizes that each of us is called to be a “Frontline Servant of God.” As a church, we strive to carry our faith with us wherever we go; representing Jesus in our daily tasks, relationships, and encounters. As we do that, we believe we can help transform the world around us in a wonderful, life-giving way. We invite you to become a part of this community.
At Good Shepherd, you will find an energetic and excited congregation. You will find our worship is uplifting, joyous, and multi-generational. Our Sunday messages are designed to help people see how their faith applies to daily living. We offer communion at each service as well as children’s messages. We offer multiple styles of worship recognizing and honoring the diversity of God’s children. No matter what the musical style, you will find that Good Shepherd goes way out of its way to provide inspiring music at every service.
Good Shepherd is a large “resource size” church (more than 500 worship each weekend) that provides many opportunities for people to become involved. We have countless education, service, and fellowship opportunities for people of all ages. Our pre-school is a wonderful community outreach program that serves families with young children at a very important stage in life. We are a web-savvy church. We broadcast our Sunday messages, publish daily E-Devotions (written by Good Shepherd members), and are continually looking for ways to expand our outreach to the world.
Good Shepherd is also in the midst of a major facility expansion that will help us facilitate more ministry opportunities, provide more space for community groups, and provide more room in worship for those “not yet in our midst.” We are preparing for you! We have room for you!
We feel blessed to have the opportunity to serve in Gaithersburg and the surrounding area. This 21st century time is an exciting time in which many are “anxious.” We choose to see the countless opportunities around us to make a difference in the name of Jesus: to care for our neighbors, to welcome new people, and to proclaim the joy that comes from living in relationship with a loving God.
